Maybelline Clear Smooth Aqua Gel Foundation

I am always in search for products that are skin-friendly and worth my cents. Skin-friendly refers to products that does not trigger pimple/acne breakouts, because you see I have a long history with pimples and acne when I was younger so I am very careful in choosing what to apply on my face. When I'm satisfied with the results, no matter how cheap or expensive it may be, I could say that it is worth my cents.

I have been using this product for months now and I just love the fact that Maybelline has formulated products suitable for Filipinas. So how does Maybelline Clear Smooth Aqua Gel Foundation differs from the rest?

1. It has a water-based formula that gives skin a light and fresh sensation.
2. It controls shine for an all day perfect and healthy-looking complexion.
3. Evens out skin tone and covers imperfections.
4. It feels soothing and cares for your skin with chamomile, aloe and Vitamin E.

What I like about this product?

1. It's non-comodogenic, no pimple breakouts for me.
2. The light to medium coverage gives me the no make-up (natural) look. 
3. Dries up easily, no sticky feel.
4. Blends well with my skin color.
5. Gives my combination skin a dewy finish.
6. Easy to apply, you can use your fingers.
7. You have the option to either finish it off with powder or pull away with the foundation alone.
8. Few applications are enough to cover your face and neck, thus a bottle can be used longer.
9. I like the container design; it's spill free unless you forgot to tightly seal the cap.
10. Affordable, only 349 bucks. 

Pre- and post-application

Because there are two sides of the story, I have listed some of the downsides I have noticed:

1. The foundation is a bit dry so it is not recommended for girls with dry skin.
2. If you're eyeing on a product that will fully cover scars and dark eye circles this may not be the best of them because it will just lighten the areas, not totally conceal them.
3. Be careful in applying the product on your creases because it settles on the lines (even on the line between your nose and cheeks) but it blends well on your forehead, cheeks and jaw. 
4. Be careful in ending up with a patchy finish because the product dries easily (I would recommend using your fingers and remember to blend fast).
5. No SPF, but  because I am always finishing it off with Maybelline Powder foundation, this lack of SPF is really not a concern for me.

Maybelline Clear Smooth Aqua Gel Foundation has four swatches to choose from, mine is No. 22: Natural Beige which is a shade lighter than my tone. It works well for me because I am acidic and my face has the tendency to darken in the latter part of the day.
