Last April, we visited Hacienda Darasa via a deal we purchased in Cash Cash Pinoy.
Here's my take on the place. Pardon me for whatever shortcomings I may
have, this is the first time I'm writing a review about a place.
ACCESSIBILITY
Hacienda
Darasa Garden Resort Hotel is located in 791 Pres. Laurel Highway, Darasa, Tanauan City, Batangas.
The Hotel |
From
Santa Rosa City, we drove to South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) via
Greenfield-Unilab Exit. From SLEX we drove until Star Tollway, the
gateway to the province of Batangas, via CALABARZON exit (which by
the way lessens travel time and helps commuters avoid heavy traffic in
Sto. Tomas, Batangas). We entered Tanauan City via Tanauan Exit. From there, we turned left until we reached the intersection after
the City Market. Then, headed right to reach the place. From Waltermart, it's around 5-8 minutes drive to Hacienda Darasa which is situated on
the left side of the road.
Impression: Accessible.
- Commuters will not have a hard time reaching the place because of available public transportation. For more info on how to get to Hacienda Darasa, visit their website here.
- In any case you need to buy something, the market and grocery are just a ride away.
ACCOMMODATIONS
The voucher that we purchased
entitled us a discounted stay at three Superior Rooms. It looked exactly
how it was posted in their website.

Reservations are a must because rooms are limited.
The view from the hotel patio |
Impression: Cozy, homey and neat.
Cons: Eating is prohibited inside the room. But you can bring in as much food as you want, granting you will pay for the corkage.
AMENITIES AND FACILITIES
- Swimming Pools
The Olympic-style pool measures 25 x 15 meters. The water was hot and it was not as deep as other standard Olympic-size pools; a good thing for non-swimmers like me because I can walk from both ends without worries of getting drowned.
The depth of the Kiddie Pool was appropriately designed for children but we preferred to stay in the adult pool because the water was a lot warmer.
Panoramic view of the Kiddie Pool |
Impression: Child-friendly pool.
Cons:
- The swimming pools were few meters away from the hotel.
- The pools were also open for day/night visits to non-hotel guests (meaning it is not exclusive to occupants of the hotel) and you would have to wait until six o'clock (6:00 pm) before you can avail of a cottage.
- You would not have too much privacy because many people are visiting this place day and night.
- Basketball and Volleyball Courts
The courts were located in the middle of the vast plantation. We were not able to use it because there were other guests playing when we strolled around the place.
- Zip line, Rappelling and Team Building Activities
We were not able to avail of these because it has to be scheduled two weeks prior to the reservation date. Also, if I recalled it correctly, there's an additional charge for the use of these facilities.

Impression: The space is suitable for team building activities.
Cons: The rappelling wall seems a bit old and rusty; plus, we cannot decipher where the end of the zip line is because the cables are beyond the walls of the resort.
- Mango Grill
This is my favorite place in the resort. In the center lies a century old mango tree with a very, very large trunk. A perfect place for special occasions like debuts, weddings and anniversaries.
The century-old mango tree. |
Even the other trees were as big as the mango tree. |
Threesome |
One more thing, according to them you can eat all the mangoes that would fall from the tree, all for free. Sounds a lot of fun, right?

Other amenities and services inside the resort includes Mahogany Cafe with free Wi-fi, dining and function areas and massage services.
RATES
At a regular rate, you will pay for 1, 990 pesos for a Superior Room accommodation for 2 and 3,600 pesos for 6 persons in a Deluxe Room.
We got ours for 1,800 pesos for 4 persons at a Superior Room (2 vouchers) and 999 pesos for 2-person accommodation in a Superior Room.
For both the regular and discounted rate, an extra person costs 500 pesos with complementary breakfast.
Impression: Reasonable price.
OVERALL IMPRESSION
Except for the suggestion that they construct a separate pool for their hotel guests, I would recommend this place. The tranquility of the place and the green surroundings make this place a good vacation getaway for families and groups of friends.
